![]() V-ray HDRI settings in 3dsmax (not another pool ball :) I started this project while I was trying to render some glass in the mini-challenge of CGTALK.Window and Kleinbottle are not modelled by me but taken from the site of the competition. I wanted to use V-ray and GI and I found some tutorials on the web about V-ray and HDRI but all of them were about pool balls. I needed also to learn a simple texturing and in my room there is a matryoshka http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matryoshka_doll that smiles at me near my 3d books and so I decided to model it and see what I could achieve learning a bit more about settings of HDRI and DOF in V-ray (www.chaosgroup.com)

The goal of this tutorial is to show you how to make your own hdr image, and then (optionally) use it for either lighting, reflections or both in a simple scene. This tutorial uses max 5, and in this case, uses brazil for rendering. Although the concepts are pretty universal here, since the main goal is the creation of the hdr image.

Hi all! I was just surfing through some 3D sites and I came across a sunlight-faking-tutorial. I must say, no hard feelings, that the tut that was posted at "the3dstudio" was REALLY overdone... I saw 30 to 40 lights.... I have an extremely nice computer, but , as you will all agree, sometimes your scenes are already slow rendering, even without the lights!! So I know a way to fake the sunlight faster, less heavy to compute and even better than the pictures I saw... Let's get the show started..:)
